APC Slams Soludo Over Attack on Senator Ekwunife’s Academic Records
PRESS STATEMENT
Rebuttal to Governor Soludo’s Utterances at APGA Election Council Inauguration
The attention of the Ikukuoma/Iyom Campaign Organization has been drawn to the reckless and unguarded remarks made by Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo against our Governorship Candidate, Prince (Dr.) Nicholas Chukwujekwu Ukachukwu (Ikukuoma), and his Deputy Governorship Candidate, Distinguished Senator Uche Ekwunife, during the inauguration of APGA’s election council yesterday.
Ordinarily, such careless statements would have been ignored. However, for the sake of Ndi Anambra who deserve clarity, we state as follows
A Misplaced Outburst:
It is regrettable that instead of presenting Ndi Anambra with a record of his achievements in office, Governor Soludo chose the path of cheap blackmail, personal insults, and character assassination. Our people deserve an issue-based campaign, not roadside drama.
Ikukuoma’s Proven Capacity:
For Soludo to describe a global businessman, philanthropist, and an employer of thousands who has made immense contributions to human and infrastructural development as a “tipper driver” is not only laughable but shows his disdain for hardworking Ndi Anambra. Ironically, the very roads Soludo boasts of are already collapsing perhaps that explains why he feels only a tipper driver can manage them.
Anambra Central and the Spirit of Unity:
Ndi Anambra will never accept divisive rhetoric. Senator Uche Ekwunife is not only married into Anambra Central but has also lived, worked, and represented the zone with excellence. Leadership is about service and competence, not the accident of birthplace. Soludo’s attempt to discredit her is a direct insult to women married outside their hometowns who continue to serve their communities with dedication.
On the Fake PhD Allegation:
The Governor’s careless claim about Senator Ekwunife’s academic qualifications is baseless, defamatory, and beneath the dignity of his office. If he truly has evidence, he should approach the courts and relevant authorities rather than indulging in smear campaigns. Senator Ekwunife’s legislative record and service to Ndi Anambra and Nigeria remain her strongest certificate.
The Real Choice Before Ndi Anambra:
The November 8, 2025 election is not about empty insults. It is about competence, compassion, and a vision to genuinely transform Anambra. Prince (Dr.) Nicholas Ukachukwu and Senator Uche Ekwunife embody that hope. Ndi Anambra are weary of propaganda, failed promises, and arrogant leadership.
We therefore urge Governor Soludo to face the real questions: why insecurity, poverty, and infrastructural decay have continued to ravage Anambra under his watch. Dragging respected leaders through the mud will not provide answers.
Ikukuoma is ready. Iyom is ready. Ndi Anambra are ready.
