American rapper Nicki Minaj has publicly reaffirmed her support for United States President Donald Trump following the Democratic Party’s reported major victories in the country’s midterm elections, declaring that Trump remains the country’s president despite the Republican Party’s electoral setbacks.
Minaj made her position known through a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday night, November 4, in which she praised Trump, Vice President JD Vance and other prominent figures associated with the Republican administration.
According to TMZ, the award-winning rapper shared a 13-point message highlighting what she considered important political and personal developments, while responding to criticism surrounding her support for Trump and his Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement.
In one of her posts, Minaj boldly declared, “Trump is STILL your PRESIDENT,” making it clear that the Republican losses in the midterm elections had not changed her position regarding the president.
She followed the statement with another declaration directed at those who have criticised her political stance, writing, “The QUEEN is STILL your OBSESSION,” apparently referring to herself and her continued prominence in public discussions.
The rapper also included a religious message in her list, declaring that “Jesus is STILL LORD,” while praising Vice President JD Vance for what she described as his great insight.
Her messages appeared to be directed at critics who have questioned her political views and public expressions of support for the Trump administration.
Minaj also congratulated several Republican politicians, including Florida Governor-elect Byron Donalds and Republican Representative Anna Paulina Luna.
She praised their political efforts and acknowledged their supporters following the election developments.
However, Luna’s electoral victory had not been officially called by the Associated Press at the time of the original report, despite her declaration of victory in the closely contested race.
The rapper also used the opportunity to appreciate her supporters, popularly known as the Barbz, while encouraging members of the Republican Party not to become discouraged by the election outcome.
In another part of her message, she urged Republicans to “WAKE UP”, apparently encouraging the party and its supporters to remain politically active despite the setbacks.
Minaj accompanied some of her posts with a short video showing her looking directly into the camera as she addressed the criticism surrounding her political affiliation and support for Trump’s MAGA movement.
She subsequently expanded her original list with two additional posts in which she praised billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk and the artificial intelligence chatbot Grok, developed by Musk’s xAI and integrated into the X platform.
Describing Musk as a trillionaire, Minaj expressed admiration for Grok, calling it a “phenomenal product”.
Her comments about Musk and the AI platform added another dimension to her series of posts, which combined political declarations, religious expressions, personal responses to critics and praise for personalities associated with the Trump administration.
The rapper’s public support for Trump has attracted considerable attention, particularly because of her influence in the global entertainment industry and her large social media following.
Although Minaj built her international reputation through music, fashion and entertainment, her recent political statements have increasingly placed her at the centre of conversations beyond the music industry.
Her latest intervention came against the background of a midterm election outcome that reportedly handed Democrats control of both chambers of the United States Congress, creating fresh political challenges for the Republican administration.
Midterm elections are held halfway through a US president’s four-year tenure and are widely regarded as an important assessment of the political environment surrounding the sitting administration.
The elections determine the composition of Congress, including all 435 seats in the House of Representatives and a portion of the 100 seats in the Senate.
Losing control of either chamber can make it more difficult for a president to advance legislative proposals, secure funding priorities and obtain congressional support for major policy initiatives.
For Trump’s administration, the reported Democratic victories could therefore introduce additional obstacles during the remaining two years of his presidential term.
However, Minaj’s reaction suggests that the election results have not weakened her publicly expressed admiration for Trump and other prominent Republican figures.
Rather than joining those criticising the Republican Party over the outcome, she used her social media platform to defend the president, celebrate personalities associated with his administration and challenge those who have attacked her political position.
