A police inspector, Lawal Ibrahim, from the Kwali Division, was found dead in a hotel room at the Palasa Guest Inn in Gwagwalada, Abuja. The incident occurred on Thursday morning, January 16, after Ibrahim allegedly engaged in a sexual encounter with a woman he had met online.
According to eyewitnesses and police reports, Ibrahim had checked into the hotel with Maryam Abba, a woman from Dutse, Jigawa State, whom he had invited to meet him. The two allegedly engaged in sexual intercourse on Wednesday night, January 15, and again early on Thursday morning.
Tragically, after the second round of sex, Maryam reportedly noticed that Ibrahim’s breathing became erratic, and he stopped responding. In a desperate attempt to revive him, she sprinkled water on his face, but he remained unresponsive.
The woman then alerted the hotel manager, Danlami Palasa, who immediately contacted the police. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found Ibrahim’s lifeless body in the hotel room. He was later taken to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, where doctors confirmed his death. His body was deposited in the hospital’s mortuary.
A preliminary investigation into the incident has revealed that items found in the hotel room included a watermelon, a suspected aphrodisiac, Ibrahim’s phone charger, and his police identity card.
The police have arrested Maryam Abba in connection with the incident, and she is currently being held for questioning. As the investigation unfolds, authorities are working to determine the circumstances surrounding Ibrahim’s death.
This shocking incident has sent shockwaves through the community, raising questions about the circumstances leading up to Ibrahim’s death. The police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist with the investigation.
