Natasha Akpoti Must Face Prosecution, Says Sandra Duru
In a strongly worded public statement, Dr. Sandra C. Duru, popularly known as Prof. Mgbeke, has called for the prosecution of Senator Natasha Akpoti, accusing her of manipulation, blackmail, and the weaponization of gender-based allegations. Dr. Duru made the remarks via her social media platforms, asserting that she would not engage with traditional media outlets or bloggers, which she described as “compromised” and “sponsored.”
Dr. Duru stated that she has chosen to communicate her position directly through her Facebook pages—Prof. Mgbeke and Sandra C. Duru—as well as her X (formerly Twitter) handle, @ProfMgbeke. She emphasized her resolve to confront what she called “sponsored attacks” without media intermediaries.
In her statement, Duru denied all allegations made against her and described herself as a resilient individual with an unblemished local and international record. She said those attacking her have repeatedly failed to uncover any criminal wrongdoing, and that their attempts to discredit her have been unsuccessful.

“All those falsely accused by Natasha Akpoti and her recruits deserve justice,” she stated.
She added that her critics misunderstand her background, experience, and personal journey. She also made it clear that she is proud of her identity and origins.
Closing her statement, Dr. Duru reaffirmed her determination to pursue the case to its conclusion.
“Natasha and her supporters, I’m not sure you did your homework well. I fight to finish and I fight with a clear mission to get justice.”
As of the time of this report, Senator Natasha Akpoti has not issued a formal response to the latest accusations. Efforts to reach her team for comment were unsuccessful.
