UNIZIK Under Fire as Alumni Call for Dismissal of Professor Chuka Enuka

Alumni from the Department of History and International Studies at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) have publicly demanded the dismissal of Professor Chuka Enuka, citing a series of serious allegations, including misconduct, physical assault, and prior indictments by academic and professional bodies.

In a statement signed by a group identified as Concerned History Alumni, the former students accuse Professor Enuka of a pattern of abuse and misconduct that allegedly spanned years and affected numerous students. The group claims that more than 150 alumni, mostly from the 2018–2022 graduating classes, are willing to testify in any civil or criminal proceedings to corroborate the claims.

They allege that despite at least two internal indictments recommending disciplinary action, UNIZIK has failed to enforce appropriate sanctions against the professor. “If the school authorities choose to cover this up again, we will have no choice but to release further evidence. We are fully prepared,” the statement said.

The most immediate controversy revolves around the alleged physical assault of Dr. Ikenna Odife, a fellow academic in the department. According to the group, this incident is the tipping point in what they describe as an “accumulated legacy of unprofessional behavior.”

The statement also referenced Professor Enuka’s previous roles and dismissals. Among these, they cite his sabbatical at the Nigerian Army Resource Center, from which he was allegedly removed, and his removal from the Historical Society of Nigeria over claims of professional misconduct. The professor’s involvement as a returning officer during an election in Anambra State also came under scrutiny. The group alleged that he was found culpable by a tribunal in relation to an electoral controversy.

These claims have not yet been independently verified, and as of this report, Professor Enuka has not issued a public response.

In addition to the formal allegations, the alumni statement referenced purported “ritualistic” acts said to have taken place on campus, including reports of items being found near the Head of Department’s office and another location in Nteje. While no official university statement has addressed these claims, they have fueled tension among faculty and students.

Efforts to reach UNIZIK’s administration for comment were unsuccessful at the time of this publication. However, sources within the university say the matter is under internal review.

The call from the alumni comes amid growing scrutiny of accountability and staff conduct in Nigeria’s public tertiary institutions. Stakeholders in the education sector are urging UNIZIK to take transparent steps in addressing the allegations to preserve the integrity of its academic environment.

This is a developing story. Updates will follow as more information becomes available.

UNIZIK: IT’S TIME TO LET CHUKA ENUKA GO
We are concerned alumni of the Department of History and International Studies.
We witnessed firsthand, over four years, the
ev!ls of Professor Chuka Enuka. We were in differing proportions, v!ctims of his debased
m!nd. We have taken this fight as a righteous fight. It appears that UNIZIK has resorted to playing the game it knows how best to play – concealing the atroc!ties of Chuka Enuka. It will not work this time. What is a bit worrisome but not surprising is that the few lecturers in the Department who were known to be courageous are not speaking out. Whether they speak or not, Chuka Enuka’s cup is full.
In a WhatsApp platform of more than 320 alumni of the Department, mostly people who graduated between 2018 and 2022, more than 150 claim to have been traumat!zed by Enuka and indicated willingness to testify against him in a civil/cr!minal proceeding. We are ready and prepping!
He has realized that there is something big coming for him, and he has intensified his game of so,rcery. Apart from his d!abolic defecati0n in front of the HOD’s office on Friday night, May 23, 2025. For those who do not understand, the s0rcery of defecati0n is called mkpopu, among other names. The aim is that just as human feces is n0t used for anything, the matter for which it is inv0ked would not amount to anything.
Somehow, Enuka realized that the enchantment did not work. He drove in a flurry to Nteje on Monday, 26 May 2025, to perform a higher
r!tual called otinku. This one is done with young cock that is at the stage of learning to crow: The cock flaps its wings but does not have the strength to crow and in like manner the case will generate wind but would not have punch. The r!tual items were disposed of close to Nteje Boys’ Secondary School (Chuka, if trepidation allows you to read this, just know that we are on you). He aimed that the matter would have no sa!l or traction. But we quickly countered his w!cked means. Shortly, the Udo Ga Achi people will pick up the s0rcerer who prepared the charm.
Professor Chuka Enuka is a big embarr@ssment to Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, and the Department of History and International Studies, whose certificate we toiled to obtain. He went on sabbatical to the Nigerian Army Resource Center and was
d!sgracefully booted out. The Army Resource Center may not be willing to take any other UNIZIK professor for sabbatical in the foreseeable future. Earlier, Chuka Enuka was kicked out of the membership of the Historical Society of Nigeria for his fraudulent activities. Another embarr@ssment for UNIZIK and graduates of its History and International Studies Department. As an INEC returning officer, Professor Chuka Enuka collected
mill!ons of Naira from a politician who contested the Anambra Central Senatorial seat, and frauduIently returned the fellow the winner of the election. It took the elections petitions tribunal no time to quash the criminal complicity of Enuka and return the rightful winner of the election. These may not concern UNIZIK as they do not have the power to act on them. However, they are indicators of the kind of r0tten soul that they have allowed to continue to pollute their environment.
Nonetheless, on the matter of Professor Chuka Enuka’s unwarranted physical assault on Dr. Ikenna Odife, we demand nothing sacking of Professor Chuka Enuka. The school authorities have all the evidence they need. For the avoidance of doubt, Chuka Enuka has been indicted by the school and recommended for sack, at least, twice. If UNIZIK covers the case up, as they have done in the past, we will be compelled to show how forensic we have gone on this matter.
