Anambra’s Roadmap to Global Greatness: Ojukwu Obakasi Cites Dubai, Taiwan, and Silicon Valley as Models for Soludo’s Visionary Leadership

In an illuminating interview aired on Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS), Ojukwu Obakasi, the Assistant National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), made a passionate and persuasive case for the re-election of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, describing the ongoing transformation in Anambra State as one rooted in global vision, economic realism, and tested strategy.

Speaking with hosts Roy Ekwunife and Uche Ebenaja, Obakasi drew compelling parallels between Anambra’s development path and the success stories of global innovation hubs such as Dubai, Taiwan, and Silicon Valley. According to him, Governor Soludo’s leadership reflects a unique fusion of economic foresight, responsible governance, and people-centered policy implementation. He stated that what is currently unfolding in Anambra is more than routine governance—it is a meticulously structured developmental revolution with international benchmarks.

Obakasi began by acknowledging the inherited challenges Soludo faced upon assuming office, including infrastructural deficits, administrative inertia, and institutional distrust. He emphasized that in just over two years, Soludo has begun to significantly rewrite that narrative. He cited the extensive road construction and rehabilitation projects across the state, the strategic employment of over 5,000 teachers to revitalize the education sector, and the digitization of educational processes to meet 21st-century standards as tangible evidence of impact. He noted that Awka, Onitsha, and Nnewi are experiencing unprecedented transformation, evolving into smart cities through enhanced waste management systems and geospatial planning tools.

He explained that these are not isolated efforts, but parts of a larger strategy grounded in global case studies. Dubai’s infrastructure-led growth, Taiwan’s industrial transition, and Silicon Valley’s innovation economy were used as comparative models. According to Obakasi, Governor Soludo is not just copying from these global examples—he is adapting and applying their core principles to fit Anambra’s unique context. Projects like the Umueri Airport City and inland port initiative draw directly from Dubai’s logistics and aviation ecosystem. The Solution Innovation District and the Anambra Digital Tribe Program are training a new generation of digital natives, echoing the spirit of Silicon Valley. Industrial zones in the works, he added, are taking a cue from Taiwan’s high-value manufacturing revolution.

Obakasi stressed that what sets Soludo apart is his capacity to not just envision but execute. Unlike the theoretical posturing of many politicians, Soludo’s ideas are being translated into real outcomes within constrained resources. He pointed to the governor’s refusal to borrow recklessly, a decision that preserves fiscal stability while pushing the boundaries of development. Public infrastructure, education, health systems, and even environmental sustainability are being pursued with discipline and accountability.

He further stated that regular wage reviews, youth empowerment schemes, and inclusive governance are steadily redefining the relationship between the government and the governed in Anambra. Citizens are no longer spectators but partners in the state’s development. Interrupting this process, he warned, would amount to halting a well-laid path to sustainable greatness. Obakasi was clear in his appeal: Governor Soludo’s re-election is not just a political imperative—it is a generational necessity. He said that policy stability, long-term planning, and consistent leadership are critical ingredients for systemic transformation, and Soludo offers all three.

The discussion moved to APGA’s role in anchoring Anambra’s transformation. Obakasi described the party as more than a political vehicle—it is an ideological platform rooted in Igbo values, grassroots development, and civic inclusiveness. He emphasized that the vision of Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, the founding father of APGA, remains alive in the party’s principles. According to him, Soludo is the clearest contemporary expression of that vision—a leader committed to excellence, progress, and accountability.

He called on Ndi Anambra, particularly the youth, artisans, professionals, and those in the diaspora, to engage more actively with APGA. He urged them to register, mobilize, vote, and volunteer. He described APGA not as a party of convenience but as a party of conviction—one that has stayed true to its foundational values even when it wasn’t politically fashionable.

As the state moves toward another election cycle, Obakasi urged voters to rise above emotion and base their choices on verifiable performance. Soludo, he said, has demonstrated in two years what many administrations could not achieve in twice the time. He described the ongoing transformation as the foundation of a future-ready Anambra—an economy driven by technology, supported by infrastructure, and anchored by sound governance.

In closing, Obakasi made a strong appeal to all citizens who care about progress not to allow the transformation to be disrupted. He said re-electing Governor Soludo is not merely about maintaining power but about consolidating gains, deepening reforms, and preparing the state for global competitiveness. With Soludo at the helm, Anambra is not merely searching for the future; it is becoming the future.
