In a recent social media post, Chukwuma Ndiogulu, a social media influencer has responded to comments made by comedian and actor, AY, regarding men not supporting men in the movie industry.

Ndiogulu expressed his disagreement with AY’s statement, citing examples of successful male filmmakers such as Kunle Afolayan, Ramsey Noah, Yul Edochie, and Zubby Michael, who continue to produce and act in movies.

He advised AY to focus on producing quality content and to be mindful of the actors and actresses he features in his movies, particularly those with “baggage” or controversy surrounding them.

Ndiogulu emphasized the importance of catering to a broader audience, rather than a select few, and warned that featuring actresses with a support base that insults others on social media can deter potential viewers.

He concluded by offering AY advice on how to increase support for his movies, emphasizing the importance of men supporting men in the industry.

The post has sparked a lively debate on social media, with many weighing in on the topic of support and collaboration in the Nollywood industry.

My dear brother AY, I have read about your complaints about men not supporting men in the movie industry but I beg to differ.

You said you are the only man left in the business of filmaking who is yet to give up. I don’t really understand what you mean. You mean all these movies being uploaded on YouTube on daily basis are all produced by female filmmakers?

Are you saying Kunle Afolayan is no longer making movies? Ramsey Noah, Yul Edochie, Zubby Michael and host of others are still making movies and men are still supporting them.

If you felt you are not getting enough support you needed in your newly released movie, please find out what is the problem and stop saying that men dont support men. A lot of male movie makers has been in this business for years without complaining. How manage you that just entered into movie making is complaining already?

I will advise you as a brother to mind the type of actors and actresses you feature in your movies. A person like me and millions of others would never waste our precious time to go see your movie in a cinema because of one person you featured in that movie.

Make sure you give acting roles to actors and actresses without baggages. Avoid featuring individuals embroidered in marital controversy in your movies. Don’t bring in an actress with a support base made up of a gang of rascaIs insuIting their elders on social media in the name of supporting their queen. By so doing, your movie will be made for everybody and not for few disgruntled individuals.

Don’t forget that it is men that buys tickets to go see movies with their lovers in the cinema and not otherwise. How do you expect a man to go watch a movie in which the supporters of one of the actresses in the movie has insulted him and his unborn generations? With free data, I can’t even watch it if I see it on YouTube.

In your next movie try to stick to my counsel and watch the wonders of men supporting men when your movie start showing in the cinema. Thank you and remain blessed.
