In a daring and meticulously executed operation, operatives of the Special Anti-Cult Squad Enugwu Ukwu, Anambra State Police Command, intercepted two suspects at a checkpoint on Umudioka-Awkuzu road by Igbariam on January 25, 2025, at 5:38 pm. This bold move by the police has sent shockwaves throughout the community, serving as a stern warning to potential criminals.

The police arrested two out of four occupants of a white Toyota Corolla vehicle with registration number YAB 26 CB. The team’s thorough search of the vehicle yielded:

1. One Barreta pistol, a deadly weapon often used in criminal activities
2. Two live ammunition, posing a significant threat to public safety
3. The Toyota Corolla vehicle, which may have been used in various illicit operations

The two suspects, Raphael Peverga and Saakura Teryima, are both 22 years old and hail from Benue State. Their arrest has raised questions about the extent of their involvement in criminal activities and the potential networks they may have been a part of….

Efforts are ongoing to arrest the other two suspects who are currently on the run. According to eyewitness reports, the suspects attempted to flee by alighting from the vehicle while it was still in motion when the operatives ordered them to park for a security search. SECURITY IN ANAMBRA: ANOTHER POLICE OPERATIVE INTERCEPTS TWO SUSPECTS AT A CHECK POINT AND RECOVERS ONE BARRETA PISTOL, TWO LIVE AMMUNITION AND A TOYOTA COROLLA CAR
Operatives of the Special Anti-Cult Squad Enugwu Ukwu, at a security checkpoint on Umudioka-Awkuzu road by Igbariam on 25th January 2025 by 5.38 pm arrested two out of the four occupants of a white Toyota Corolla vehicle with registration number YAB 26 CB. The team also recovered one barreta pistol, two live ammunition and the Toyota Corolla vehicle.
The two suspects are Raphael Peverga and Saakura Teryima both aged 22 years old and from Benue State. Meanwhile, efforts are ongoing to arrest the other two suspects that are currently on the run.
It was reported that the suspects alighted from the vehicle while still in motion when the Operatives ordered them
to park the vehicle for a Security search.
