Charles Awuzie Celebrates Joy Omon at 49
If you ever find a 49 year old human looking this beautiful at 49, please arrest them for impersonation….
The only person allowed to look this beautiful at 49 is my sister Joy Omon .
I always get into trouble when I talk about her. Someone who’s monitoring my posts will just WhatsApp me and say “the way you love this your sister Joy eh”. 😂
But to be honest, I love sister Joy with ALL MY HEART. She’s my big sister. I love her husband – one of the most intelligent engineers Nigeria lost to America and Canada. Her family is my family and mine is hers too.
Our relationship started from long hours of bible study calls. We would spend 2 hours or more searching for truths from the bible. I was a pastor who had just started questioning the MONETISATION OF THE GOSPEL. I had just announced that my ministry would no longer accept tithes or prophetic seeds from people expecting miracles. Sister Joy was a major financier of a certain prophet in Canada and had also started to question why God needs money from His children before blessing them. Once she found the truth, she stood by it. She left the prophetic ministry which encouraged the sow to prosper mammonic doctrine. She went through a very lonely transition in finding the truth. In the process, she lost relationships but never lost her truth. Back in those days, we formed a group called the REFORMERS. We fellowshipped and watched each other’s back as we were constantly attacked by the darkness we exposed.
Sister Joy invested the resources and time she once gave to religion in her career – Today, she’s one of the most successful women I know in her field. She became my best testimony that a person can become more when they find the truth, eschew excessive religiosity while maintaining decent spirituality. She and the likes of sister Idee Charles and others stood for the truth amidst threats etc. Then entered Dr. Abel Damina and his revolutionary R.I.O.T – the rest is history. Whatever you see happening today in the Pentecostal movement didn’t start today, and you can’t trace that history without women who bore no religious titles but shook tables.
On the other hand, my ministry colleagues ostracised me for PREACHING THE TRUTH – declaring that a believer is not valued by God based on the fatness of their offering or tithes but based on the efficacy of the finished work of Christ. This was my major sin – preaching the Finished Work of Christ. They stopped inviting me to preach for them. Back in those days, preaching was rewarded with honorarium and as a passionate young preacher, I had many invitations and the honorariums were great too. So imagine the sacrifice of letting go of a life I was already used to, to face mockery, shame and disrespect on social media. People who once called me Papa insulted me freely. Chai. But Sister Joy stepped in and made sure I bounced back without ever feeling like I lost anything by standing for the truth. We started an online Radio Station- inspiredFM, she supported it with both her time and resources. That radio station was the only Gospel Web based Radio Station broadcasting reformation gospel to thousands of listeners across the world. She had a weekly show on that radio called MARRIAGE WITHOUT TEARS with Joy . And she would make time to send content every week for the show.
We’ve come a long way.
But one thing that has defined our relationship is TRUTH AND HUMANITY.
Dear Sister Joy, you are TRUTHFUL and in you, I found a Nigerian with no blemish, a human with a perfect spirit of truth.
Happy Birthday to a Great Woman with a Great Mind! May more women like you arise who will stand for the truth, support the truth even when it’s not fashionable to do so and above all, become successful in their career as a testimony that the truth truly sets free and prospers those who find it.
Cheers! 🥂
