Hoodlums K!ll Mass Communication Student In Hostel Attack
The Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic (ATAP) community in Bauchi State has been thrown into mourning following the brutal killing of a National Diploma II student, Mr. Samuel Mbami, who was stabbed to death by armed hoodlums during a violent hostel invasion.
The incident, which occurred around 3 a.m. on Friday, saw unidentified attackers storm the students’ hostel, raiding rooms and leaving chaos in their wake. Tragically, Mbami, an ND II student of Mass Communication, was fatally stabbed in the assault.
Confirming the incident, the National President of the National Union of Bauchi State Students (NUBASS), Bello Ibrahim Aliyu, described the attack as “a heinous and barbaric act” that has no place in society.

“It is worrisome to note that this is coming barely days after a similar invasion at Federal Polytechnic Bauchi, though without loss of life. Such repeated attacks on innocent students are unacceptable and will not be tolerated,” Aliyu said.
Aliyu extended condolences to the family of the deceased, the management of ATAP, and the entire student community, urging students to remain calm and not resort to jungle justice.
“We must allow security agencies and the school authority to take charge of the situation,” he stressed, while calling on security operatives to ensure the perpetrators are swiftly apprehended and brought to justice.
NUBASS, he added, remains committed to safeguarding the welfare, safety, and dignity of Bauchi students both within and outside the state.
Meanwhile, efforts to reach the Bauchi State Police Command for official comments on the incident proved unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.
