No matter what you do or how you think you trust yourself, there are things when you start doing them, you will lose yourself and eventually lose your marriage.

Some couples may think that the problem they have in their homes is that the man or the woman is misbehaving but they don’t know how they exposed themselves to what I call “OOSOM”(occasion of sin of marriage)

Never you indulge in WhatsApp chat with another person which you will not be proud to have your spouse read them. Any form of discussion, even if it’s business or anything that you delete from your phone is capable of making you lose yourself.

Never you go back to your ex and complain to him or her about what is happening in your home, whether negative or positive. They are ex, so let them be. Some of these ex knew they can’t marry you cos of your bad behaviours. Why will an ex leave someone he or she loves and marry someone else. Then come back and start playing Mr Nice guy or Mrs nice woman.

Never you keep companies that you are not proud of telling your spouse. Some of us attend occasions that they new their spouse will not support. Some even go as far as attending functions which their spouse has told them he or she is not comfortable with. They will tell you, that the said spouse is a not a guy and that he or she is too jealous or obsessed with them. You know what, eventually and gradually, you lose yourself.

At official functions, offices, places of work and at the market; as a married man or woman, keep things official. Don’t indulge in jokes that will eventually make you lose your mind. Don’t call another person “my love” “babe” “honey” etc. these are names due for your spouse. Your husband or your wife may not like it when they found out that you call another person the name you call him or her. It’s natural jealousy.

Don hug, peck, or kiss people beyond the official kinds of these practices. The Human mind is deceptive. You cannot control it when they come no matter how mentally strong you believe you are.

Don’t wear clothes that exposes your sensitive area (women mostly) Men only comes to a woman that attracts them. You can still stay beautiful in descent clothing.

When you are emotionally down, don’t go to places that will expose you to mercies that will eventually make you lose yourself; Facebook is one of them. Talk to people you can trust not strangers. Don’t start to claim a pity party. We all have faults.

Finally, your spouse may be the best person that can manage your excesses. There is no saint out there. All you need is patience, calmness and love for you to enjoy him or her. Don’t overdo things thinking that you are the best. Your best may be so bad to that person you are throwing yourself at. Let’s be mature.
