My Role as Consortium Chair
On Friday, 8th of November, marks a profound milestone in my academic journey and an honor that fills me with gratitude and purpose. At the 9th International Interdisciplinary Conference, I was entrusted with the leadership of the Consortium, taking on the role of Chair from my esteemed colleague, Prof. Deogratuis Jaganyi, Vice Chancellor of Mount Kenya University. This responsibility is both humbling and inspiring, as I reflect on the work that has brought us here and the road that lies ahead.
Prof. Jaganyi’s contributions to the Consortium have been transformative. His dedication to fostering collaboration, research, and academic excellence has set a high standard and left an enduring legacy. As he officially passed the baton to me, he conveyed his faith in our collective vision, wishing us strength and clarity in our journey forward. Prof. Jaganyi’s encouragement to embody the spirit of “Light of the Nation” resonates deeply with me, as I believe in our ability to illuminate new paths in research and education, expanding knowledge not only across Africa but around the world.
In my acceptance, I was compelled to recognize the tireless efforts of each member of this Consortium. This progress has been a testament to unity, love, and teamwork—principles I hold dear. Working hand-in-hand with the Vice Chancellors and leaders from our participating institutions has reinforced my belief that together, we can elevate this Consortium to new heights. I am deeply committed to fostering an inclusive environment where ideas can flourish and where our collective mission advances the goals of all our institutions.
As I embark on this new role, I envision a Consortium that not only serves as a beacon of innovation and research but also brings more African universities into the fold. By the end of my tenure, I am confident that we will have achieved this goal, creating a broader, stronger community dedicated to academic excellence.
The journey ahead is ambitious, yet I am motivated by the support, collaboration, and enthusiasm I have witnessed. With every effort, we will build upon this legacy, bringing light to new ideas, forging connections, and expanding the Consortium’s influence. This is our moment to shape the future of academia, and I am honored to lead us in this mission.
Here’s to new beginnings, enduring partnerships, and an ever-brightening light that reaches across nations!
Congratulations to me!
