Prof. Mgbeke Responds to Critics, Clarifies Role in SONCAP Initiative

In response to ongoing criticism and allegations circulating across media platforms and social media, Professor Mgbeke has issued a statement addressing what she describes as “a coordinated campaign of misinformation and defamation” targeting her professional integrity and personal contributions to regulatory reform in Nigeria.

At the heart of the controversy is confusion between the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), a federal regulatory agency, and the Standards Organisation of Nigeria Conformity Assessment Programme (SONCAP), a compliance initiative under SON. According to Prof. Mgbeke, the misrepresentation of the two distinct entities has been repeated by several public commentators, including journalist Adeola Fayehun.

“It is crucial to make this distinction clear: SONCAP is a program under SON. It is not the same as the regulatory agency itself,” Mgbeke stated, adding that she played a key conceptual role in the creation of SONCAP during the administration of former SON Director-General, Dr. John Ndanusa Akanya.

Prof. Mgbeke emphasized that mischaracterizations of her role in public service, particularly with respect to her contributions to gender mainstreaming in the Nigeria Police Force and her representation of Nigeria at global forums such as the United Nations and Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), are rooted in ignorance or deliberate distortion.

Without directly naming specific individuals beyond those already mentioned in public discourse, she noted that many of her critics have failed to undertake thorough research before making public assertions. “When people who do not understand the background or technical detail of my work attempt to discredit it, it reflects more on them than on the work itself,” she said.

Among the names cited in the broader discussion are Nigerian politician Natasha Akpoti, journalist Reuben Abati, TV host Rufai Oseni, and public figures such as Frances, Obinna, and Adanna. Mgbeke suggested that the campaign against her may be politically or ideologically motivated, and asserted that it would not deter her from pursuing justice and setting the record straight.

“From the United Nations to the Inter-Parliamentary Union and Nigeria itself, I have consistently advocated for institutional reforms and transparency,” she said. “I remain committed to ensuring that facts triumph over propaganda.”

She also reaffirmed her qualifications and standing in various fields of advocacy, education, and public policy. According to Mgbeke, her educational and professional background places her in a strong position to defend her legacy and expose false narratives.

Prof. Mgbeke referenced a personal publication titled Unheard Screams – The Hidden War on Women, which she described as a documentation of many of the issues under current public scrutiny. The book is available through major retailers and her publishing outlet.

In conclusion, she called for informed dialogue, accountability, and a measured approach to public criticism. “Crystal justice will prevail,” she said, expressing faith that ongoing disputes will be resolved through transparent processes and truth-based engagement.

As of press time, there has been no official response from the parties named in her statement. Public reaction remains divided, with some expressing support for Mgbeke’s clarifications, while others have called for independent investigation into the allegations and counter-allegations now circulating widely online.

It’s become painfully clear that those paid to discredit, harass, blackmail, and slander me, ranging from Natasha, Hope, Iluo, Obinna, Adanna, Frances, Abati, Rufai, to the most clueless of them all, Adeola Fayehun, are not intellectually equipped to match my very high standards. How can anyone take seriously a person who doesn’t even know the difference between SON (a regulatory agency) and SONCAP (a compliance program)? The gap in knowledge is embarrassing.
I am far too intelligent, talented, and purpose-driven to waste energy on a circle of uninformed itiboribos. It’s no wonder some people underestimate me, especially my humility, decency, simplicity, and honesty often confuse the shallow-minded. But don’t worry… I’ll be the cure to all your collective madness.
You clearly didn’t do your research before crossing my path so disrespectfully. That was your first mistake.
By the time I’m done exposing the lies, series of manipulation, and weaponized agendas you all promote, the world, America 🇺🇸, the United Nations, the Inter-Parliamentary Union, your country Nigeria 🇳🇬, and every justice-loving human will see the truth. And they will thank me for it.
We are getting to the end of this matter and EL-ROI will take all the glory! Adeola, i am well educated, informed, experienced and very knowledgeable in all aspects of the things i am passionately involved in and i bet you, i will not STOP until CRYSTAL JUSTICE IS SERVED!!!!
Walaih! Natasha Akpoti, Adeola Fayehun & co, you come for me, you’re the victim. I come for you, you’re still the victim. Opari! 😂
