The Misconception of Praising Genevieve’s Decision to Remain Single
The recent praise for Genevieve’s decision to remain single has sparked a thought-provoking conversation. While Genevieve’s prioritization of her peace of mind and private life is admirable, it’s essential to recognize that her decision might not be entirely by choice.
Appreciating Genevieve’s Strengths
Genevieve is indeed a strong and independent individual who has managed to maintain her relevance in the industry while keeping her personal life private. Her ability to avoid the pressures of social media and the paparazzi is commendable. However, it’s crucial to acknowledge that her decision to remain single might be influenced by various factors, including societal pressures and personal circumstances.
The Potential Consequences of Praising Genevieve’s Decision
Praising Genevieve’s decision to remain single without considering the potential underlying reasons can be misleading. It’s essential to recognize that Genevieve, like many women, may face societal pressures and expectations to get married. The African society, in particular, can be harsh on single women above 40, labeling them as “unmarriageable” due to their “bad” character or a perceived curse.
The Importance of Empathy and Understanding
Rather than praising Genevieve’s decision to remain single, it’s essential to approach the topic with empathy and understanding. We should recognize that everyone’s circumstances are unique, and it’s not our place to judge or assume someone’s decisions. Genevieve, like many women, may be facing emotional trauma or pressure from her family to get married.
Conclusion
In conclusion, while Genevieve’s strength and independence are admirable, it’s essential to approach the topic of her decision to remain single with empathy and understanding. We should avoid praising or judging someone’s decisions without considering the potential underlying reasons. Instead, we should focus on promoting a supportive and non-judgmental environment for all individuals, regardless of their marital status.
EXCERPT
Anyone who praised Genevieve and every other person who made a choice not marry due to what is happening between Tuface and Annie is an irresponsible person.
First of all, let me appreciate Genevieve for prioritizing her peace of mind above all. You don’t see her being in a clique or circle of friends.
She doesn’t show up if she does not feel like showing up. She loves and enjoys her own company so much that in fact, she is not doing too much social media paparazzi, but she is very relevant in the industry.
I admire her so much. You can’t see Genevieve and Omotola trying too hard to belong. They are just in their own class even though they are no longer new in Nollywood.
Genevieve has succeeded in hiding her love life from the public view. You can’t know anything about her and she doesn’t seek validation on social media. She seems to have much peace and looks younger by the day. She is a private person and very successful.
The reason why I don’t support any single lady’s decision to permanently remain single including that of Genevieve is because they don’t allow the married women to enjoy their husbands. But if they would stay off the married men and date only the sugar boys, then I won’t have any problem with their decision never to get married.
There are many successful women in Nollywood like Genevieve who are married today and are happily living with their husbands. Is Omotola Jalade not enjoying her marriage? The accidents that happens on our highways everyday has not stopped Nigerians from traveling by the road. Weddings happens every saturday same way the court dissolves marriages every Thurday.
So it is wrong to start praising Genevieve for her choice to remain single up till now. Remember, it might be that she wanted to get married but she has not seen a person she is compatible with.
It is wrong to think Genevieve won’t feel fulfilled if a man she loves proposes marriage to her. Do you think she doesnt want to wear a gorgeous wedding gown while her man hold her hand as they both strode to the church altar in the presence of hundreds of her friends and guests?
What if it happened that the reason why she withdrew from the public view and has being living a private life is because she is not married? Do you know if she is under pressure by her family members to get married? Arent you aware that African society see every single woman above 40yrs old as a person who was unable to marry due to her ‘bad’ character or as a result of a cürsÄ“ placed on her?
Don’t admire a building you don’t know what is inside. Genevieve might be passing through an emotional trauma caused by her inability to get married and you are here praising her for same thing that is troubling her mind. Even you that is praising her wouldn’t waste time to say ‘YES’ if a man you love proposes to marry you.
