Hon. Uchenna Harris Okonkwo Empowers Idemili North Youths and Women in Bio-Gas Production for Sustainable Development
In a groundbreaking initiative aimed at fostering sustainable development and economic empowerment, Hon. Uchenna Harris Okonkwo, the member representing Idemili North and South Federal Constituency, has attracted a transformative training program for youths and women in Eziowelle, Idemili North. This program focuses on the production and domestic utilization of bio-gas, marking a significant step toward advancing alternative energy solutions in the region.
A dedicated advocate for technological advancement, alternative energy, and economic self-reliance, Hon. Okonkwo collaborated with the National Biotechnology Research and Development Agency (an arm of the Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology) to deliver this training. The event, held from November 6th to 8th, 2024, at Eziowelle Civic Centre Hall, included hands-on workshops and startup funding, enabling participants to immediately implement their newly acquired skills.
Hon. Okonkwo reaffirmed that this initiative is part of his commitment to the people of Idemili, aligning with his campaign pledge to explore and expand alternative energy sources for electricity generation, cooking, and even transportation. The initiative not only addresses energy needs but also serves as a catalyst for employment, equipping young people and women with skills to build sustainable livelihoods and contribute to the constituency’s economic growth.
