Yul is a born actor. No other actor comes close when measured up with Yul’s inborn acting talent.
Each of his movie I watch makes me develop more willingness to watch the next one.
I love how Yul carved out a territory for himself in Asabawood movies. Before the arrival of Nollywood, we all were watching American action movies. But the likes of Pete Edochie, Sam Loco, Osuofia, etc were able to create something local for us. With time, they succeeded in diverting 90% of American film lovers’ attention to Nollywood movies.
All the movies Yul has been producing are all cinema standard movies. Alaba movie marketers made billions of Naira from selling and marketing locally produced movies. Most times, due to sharp practices by the marketers, they makes more money than the movie owners. The coming of movie streaming platforms such as YouTube brought the era pirating movies and selling movies in CDs to an end.
Today, a movie owner earns $7,000 from YouTube once the movie garnered 1million views . Today, movie producers make more money from their movies uploaded on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram,TikTok,etc.
I love how Yul is not bothered about taking his movies to the cinema even when his movies are far better than some of the movies currently showing in the cinemas.
What is the essence of going into the streets and pack hungry Nigerians into the cinema, bought coke and bread for them, then video them and post on social media all in a bid to convince Nigerians that their movie was a sold out at the cinema? Yul can’t descend so low all in a bid to convince the world that he is undisputably the king of movie making in Nigeria.
Since he started movie making, he has never drawn public attention to his movies by accusing a particular gender of not supporting his craft all in a bid to stir public pity and trick Nigerians into watching his movie. He has never begged anybody to setup account where his fans will pay money into so that the money will be used to subscribe data for those who wanted to watch his movie but dont have data.
How long will you continue to trick the public to pity you and watch your movies? If your craft is superb, you don’t need to trick anybody into watching your movies. A good market sells itself. Yul’s movies sells themselves. Go watch The Messiah and confirm what I am saying.
