Family members and friends have been thrown into deep mourning following the death of a Nigerian woman, Fausat Yusuf, who reportedly p@ssed away just six weeks before her scheduled wedding.

However, what was supposed to be a period of excitement and anticipation has turned into tragedy following her sudden death.

Friends and relatives who had been looking forward to celebrating the couple’s union have taken to Facebook to express their grief and pay tribute to the deceased.

One of those mourning her, identified as Eli Obadiah, described the development as heartbreaking, noting that the couple had been counting down to their wedding day before death struck.

In an emotional tribute, Obadiah wrote that the wedding dress was ready, the date had been fixed and invitations had been distributed, but Fausat would never get the opportunity to walk down the aisle.

He expressed sadness that preparations that were supposed to culminate in a wedding celebration had instead given way to funeral arrangements.

The tribute read in part:

“They were counting down to 19th December, but death came first and took the bride, Miss Fausat Yusuf, away from the awaiting groom.”

He further described her as a bride-to-be who was full of happiness, hopes and dreams as she looked forward to starting a new chapter of her life with her fiancé.

Obadiah also prayed for the peaceful repose of her soul, describing her as someone whose smile, kindness and love would remain in the memories of those who knew her.

He urged members of the public to remember her family and fiancé, Jacob Gambo Kpasaba, in their prayers as they come to terms with the painful loss.

Fausat’s death has left her loved ones grieving a future that had been eagerly anticipated, with December 19, the date that was supposed to mark the beginning of her married life, now becoming a painful reminder of the wedding that will never take place.
