In a shocking and disturbing incident, a man in Anambra State has confessed to burning his wife to death, citing that “a spirit came over him” as the reason for his heinous actions. The tragic event occurred after the wife reportedly returned home late at night, sparking a fit of rage in her husband.
During an interrogatory session with the Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Honourable Ify Obinabo, the husband revealed that his wife’s habit of going out without informing him of her destination and returning home late, sometimes as late as 11 pm or 12 am, had become a source of frustration for him.
When questioned if his wife’s actions justified setting her on fire, the husband shockingly replied, “It was out of temper, I didn’t mean to do it, a spirit came over me.” This bizarre explanation has left many stunned and searching for answers.
The couple had five sons together, and the husband had two children from a previous marriage that ended due to his first wife’s allegedly “troublesome” behavior. The husband claimed that his current wife was also “giving him troubles,” but he described himself as “calm” and “not troublesome.”
