Devastating Blaze Hits Three Abia Radio Stations
A massive fire swept through a building housing three radio stations in Aba, Abia State, on Saturday night, destroying millions of naira worth of broadcasting equipment.
The affected stations – Enyimba 94.3 FM, Rose 101.9 FM, and Legend 98.3 FM – shared a common facility off Margret Avenue, exacerbating the damage.
Quick Response Prevents Further Destruction
The Abia State Fire Service swiftly intervened, containing the fire and preventing it from spreading to neighboring buildings.
Extensive Damage, Temporary Shutdown
Although no lives were lost, all broadcasting equipment was destroyed, forcing the stations offline. The parent company, Enyimba TV and Radio Limited, has launched an investigation into the fire’s cause.
Alleged Origin, Call for Prevention Measures
A staff member revealed that the fire started in the TV section before spreading to the radio stations. An Abia State Fire Service official emphasized the importance of equipping premises with fire extinguishers and hydrants to prevent similar incidents.

The management has announced a temporary shutdown to assess damage and implement preventive measures.
