The respected politician and community leader reportedly died on Wednesday, April 5, 2025, at the age of 64—just months before what would have been his 65th birthday.

The news was confirmed by Hon. Azubuike Osuchukwu, the APGA Chairman for Nnewi South Local Government Area, who revealed that the tragic event occurred earlier this week. While the specifics of the death remain unclear, Osuchukwu mentioned that he had been attempting to reach Umeh’s family members to gather more information, but his efforts were yet to bear fruit at the time of publication.
